Company: CITY OF HOMESTEAD/HR REP Job Description: INFORMATION SYSTEMS TECHNICIAN The City of Homestead Police Department is seeking an Information Systems Technician (Sal. $18.77 p/hr - $22.89 p/hr). This responsible position requires detailed knowledge of computer workstations, servers, storage arrays and complex wired and wireless networking systems. Requirements: Experience and/or specialized training in the following areas: Management of an Ethernet network with multiple gateways; Configuration and management of 3Com switches and hubs, Cisco 1600, 1700 and 3600 series routers; Configuration and basic programming of firewalls; Functional knowledge and experience in the installation; use and management of Microsoft Windows 2000 and XP workstations, server, advanced server and server 2003 software; Functional knowledge of Microsoft Office software and web page design fundamentals; Functional knowledge of programming concepts and database design. Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Power Point, Word and Excel. College degree or specialized education in related areas preferred. Must be able to comprehend written and verbal instructions and work independently.
