If you have a blog then you probably know about social networking. What surprised me and I'm sure many others, was the ongoing success of Blog Catalog's Mass Buzz. Until this time, Blog Catalog didn't exactly distinguish itself to be the most successful social networking site. However I decided to participate in this "experiment" to see what would happen. The Mass Buzz experiment, as detailed on on the iwebis site: http://iwebis.com/2007/05/07/s… doesn't seem to be slowing down any time soon. Not only have I found a new bunch of readers and "friends" to my blog, but I have also been "Stumbled" on Stumble Upon. I have now joined Stumble Upon, finding that my article on the Blog Catalog Experiment: http://savesavesave.blogspot.c… had been stumbled a number of times. There are many experiments going around at this time, Alexa Trains, Technorati experiments, and many more too numerous to mention. It was great to be a part of an experiment that actually made a difference to the readership of Blog Catalog members blogs, and the "runaway train" seems to be still in effect. It will be interesting to see where this experiment will lead from here. |
